Reflection Week Two

Reflection regarding lessons learned from Week Two.  From our video the interviews were very powerful to me. From Dr. BriseƱo's interview one of the things he mentioned and will stay on my mind first "look at facts", data.  Also, peer sharing is very important and read or research the areas of interest and trouble.  From Dr. Chargois' interview, "better teachers never stop learning", also to be data driven and use action research, quantitative and qualitative to improve student performance.
Our assigned readings from Dana text, which provide focus of action research. "The Passions That Drive Your Journey," the nine areas, she describes them as the major wonderings of many school leaders."

How Educational Leaders might use Blogs.

I see blogs very powerful tools for Educational Leaders.  To communicate with staff.  To publish articles of interest and received feed back, to seek for solutions, opinions in how to solve a specific need.  To be able to inform or post anything relevant, data.  Like the Dana text discusses the power of sharing research projects, a reflective journal.  A very effective tool to consider.

ACTION RESEARCH

According to our lecture, Action Research requires collection of data, involving applicable stakeholders in order to provide a valuable diagnostic in its own context.  Which will formulate the "action"  research. To improve specific areas, facilitates change or resolve problems. Whereas traditional methods are done by foreign researchers and the remediation becomes less meaningful to any situation.
I find action research a very powerful tool to implement, improve or make changes.  Action research will be very useful not only to me but to my school which is continually seeking for improvement and solutions.
