  1. A "flipped classroom" is not something that I am familiar with and I would love to know more. I think your plan is well organized and it seems that you have your timeline well thought out.

    1. This is what my administrator suggested, I started researching the topic and got excited that I get to implement it. Basically is, you do your lecture or learning using teacher created videos (I am doing Math) outside the classroom or at home and you come back and do the homework in class. One of the benefits is that the student can learn at their own pace or watch the video until they get it. When students come back mastering the basic skill (I hope) it allows you to have assignments or discussions at higher level of thinking.

  2. I am in the process of using the flip model at my school. My main problem is finding enough time to make the videos for my class. I teach computer networking and repair. It is a lot of prep time making the videos. I also have had a time making sure that students complete assignments in a timely fashion. That maybe part of the mastery learning process instead of the flip concept. I went to a workshop with two guys who kinda were instrumental in the flipped concept and mastery learning so it is intertwined for me. Here is a website that I have used in the past. It may help you or you may already now about it. But here it is. http://flippedclassroom.org/

    1. James, thanks so much for posting in my blog. I do relate to you when you say making the videos is time consuming. I am just dong one subject, Math and I teach second graders, my videos are not that long but to sit and make them, it is a challenge. Is is like you have to get use to doing them. Thank you for the web site information, I will visit it. I am going to a middle school next week to get ideas for this concept, I will keep you posted if I see anything useful.

  3. Your action plan looks very organized along time lines. A possible suggestion for setting up the "flipped classroom," could you film your current lessons to use for the following year and so on, to help eliminate spending extra time in making the lessons. I know a teacher that would wear a microphone and pod cast his lectures so that students could go back and listen to past lectures or if they were absent they could always catch up. Good luck

    1. Troy, thanks so much for the great idea. I use other resources but honestly didn't think about recording current lessons. Thanks again for your input.
